A week ago I looked at Flatsome and its new AI-agent plans, and the catch was that Flatsome MCP lives in a separate beta product, not in the theme you buy on ThemeForest. WoodMart, the other big WooCommerce theme on ThemeForest, went a different way. Version 8.6.0, released September 14, 2026, added a Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration and a settings page for AI agents right inside the theme. If you buy WoodMart on ThemeForest today, that’s part of what you get.

That’s why WoodMart is today’s Envato pick. If you’re building a WooCommerce store and you’re curious about letting an AI agent help manage it, this is one of the few store themes where you can try that now without buying a second product. This review is based on XTemos’ changelog and blog, a hands-on review published by WPSymposium on October 4, 2026, and a public speed test. It isn’t my own store build.

What WoodMart is and what it costs

WoodMart is a WooCommerce theme from XTemos Studio. It’s built for online stores first, and XTemos says it powers more than 120,000 of them. Here’s what the buying details looked like when I checked:

  • Price: $69 for a Regular License. XTemos raised it from $59 on September 1, 2026, the first increase since the theme launched in 2016. In its announcement, XTemos blamed a higher Envato commission and wrote: “Even at $69, the $10 increase doesn’t fully offset the impact of the new commission.”
  • Payment model: one-time purchase with lifetime theme updates, no yearly renewal.
  • Support: 6 months included. WPSymposium saw $21.38 to extend it to 12 months when it checked.
  • Current version: 8.6.4, released October 6, 2026. Its changelog lists fixes for “Important security issues”, so keep it updated.
  • Track record: WPSymposium reported a 4.91 out of 5 rating from about 3,700 reviews and 119,513 sales on ThemeForest as of October 7, 2026.

I couldn’t load the ThemeForest page myself today, so treat those figures as of the dates given and check the listing before you buy.

The AI angle: WoodMart MCP

MCP is a standard way for AI tools to talk to software. With WoodMart’s MCP plugin switched on, an agent like Claude, Codex or Cursor can work with your theme’s pages, layouts and settings instead of you clicking through every panel. XTemos pitches it on its site as a way to build pages, layouts and settings by prompting your AI agent.

WPSymposium tested it. It found that WoodMart MCP 1.0.2 “lets AI agents such as Claude, Codex or Cursor manage the site through the Model Context Protocol”, and that turning it on also installed two plugins from WordPress.org: AI 1.4.0 and MCP Adapter 0.7.0. The 8.6.4 update changed things so the MCP Adapter now comes from the WordPress.org plugin directory.

The sensible caution came from the plugin itself. As WPSymposium put it: “Its own page suggests using it on a staging site rather than a live one, which we agree with.” I’d go further. Let an agent loose on a staging copy, check every change, and only then push to the store that takes real orders.

WoodMart vs Flatsome on AI, side by side

WoodMart (ThemeForest) Flatsome Classic (ThemeForest)
MCP for AI agents Included since 8.6.0 (optional plugin) Not included; Flatsome MCP is in the separate Site Builder beta
Page builders Elementor, Gutenberg or WPBakery UX Builder
Regular License $69 since September 1, 2026 $59 when I checked on October 13, 2026
Payment One-time, lifetime updates One-time, future updates

If you missed it, my Flatsome review covers the Classic vs Site Builder split in detail.

What you get for a store

WPSymposium’s verdict was strong: “WoodMart is one of the most complete WooCommerce themes you can buy in 2026.” The reason is that a lot of store features usually sold as separate plugins come built in: AJAX filters, live search, wishlist, compare, quick view, frequently bought together bundles, dynamic discounts, free gifts, a free shipping bar, delivery estimates, a waitlist and a price tracker. Its reviewer switched each one on and reported: “On our test install all of them worked.”

Other things worth knowing:

  • Three builders: Elementor, Gutenberg or WPBakery. WPSymposium counted 141 WoodMart widgets for Elementor and 193 blocks for Gutenberg, and didn’t need Elementor Pro.
  • Prebuilt sites: about 100 demos, and since 8.6.0 you can import just part of one.
  • Newer WooCommerce checkout: 8.6.0 added support and custom styling for the WooCommerce Cart and Checkout blocks.
  • Fewer bundled extras: Slider Revolution was dropped in 8.4.1 in favor of WoodMart’s own slider.

The trade-offs

It’s busy, and most features start switched off

WoodMart’s Theme Settings panel has about 20 sections, and WPSymposium found that most of the shop tools were off by default even after a demo import. Its advice: “Plan an hour to go through the Shop settings before launch.”

Demos are heavy

The imported WoodMart Main homepage weighed about 2.5 MB on desktop across 288 requests in WPSymposium’s sandbox, mostly images, and the CSS arrived as 129 small files. A public Lighthouse test of the vendor demo on Themes Tested scored 70 on mobile and 98 on desktop. Swap in your own compressed images and use good caching and hosting.

Some features need an activated license

One-click updates, ready-made translations and the cloud Image Optimizer all need the purchase code activated. The Image Optimizer also works on a storage quota with a paid upgrade.

Builder lock-in still applies

Bricks, Divi and Beaver Builder aren’t supported, and demos are built per editor, so pick your builder before you import anything.

Who should buy WoodMart

  • You’re launching a WooCommerce store and want store features built in rather than paying for five extra plugins.
  • You want to try AI-agent site management on a staging copy without buying a separate product.
  • You already work in Elementor, Gutenberg or WPBakery.
  • You prefer a one-time license over a yearly theme bill.

Who should skip

  • Skip if you build with Bricks, Divi or Beaver Builder.
  • Skip if you want the lightest possible theme and don’t plan to tune images and caching.
  • Skip if you’re running a content site with no shop. Most of what you’d pay for is store features.
  • Wait if you were hoping an AI agent would run your live store on its own. The MCP tools are new, and even the plugin says staging first.

JamoraquAI Take

WoodMart is the more practical AI story of the two big ThemeForest store themes right now. The MCP integration ships in the theme you buy, the store features are broad and tested, and XTemos keeps shipping updates, including an October security release. The $10 price bump is real, but it’s still a one-time cost.

The honest limits are the usual ones for a feature-packed theme: an hour of settings before launch, heavy demos you’ll want to trim, and a builder choice you’ll live with. If those don’t put you off, WoodMart is a strong base for a WooCommerce store, and a low-risk place to start experimenting with AI agents on staging.

FAQ

Does the ThemeForest version of WoodMart include MCP for AI agents?

Yes. MCP integration was added in version 8.6.0 on September 14, 2026, and WoodMart MCP is offered as an optional plugin from the theme’s Plugins page.

Is WoodMart a subscription?

No. The Regular License is a one-time $69 purchase with lifetime theme updates. Support is 6 months, with an option to extend.

How many sites does one license cover?

One website project. WPSymposium describes that as one live domain plus one staging or development domain.

Do I need Elementor Pro?

WPSymposium didn’t need it. WoodMart’s own Elementor widgets covered product, cart, checkout and account pages.

Is WoodMart slow?

The theme code itself isn’t large, but the demos are image-heavy. With your own optimized images, caching and decent hosting, it can score well, as the 98 desktop Lighthouse result on the vendor demo shows.

Prices and figures are from XTemos and WPSymposium at the dates given (checked October 20, 2026) and can change. Check the ThemeForest listing before you buy.
